The Green Choice

Grænn Kostur or “The Green Choice” is a vegetarian restaurant at Skolavordustigur 8, in Reykjavik town centre. The restaurant is accessible from the car park on Bergstadastræti. Opening hours are from 11:30 a.m. until 21:00 p.m. every day but Sunday when we open at 13:00 but are open until 21:00 as usual. Grænn Kostur is a small restaurant seating only 30-40 but we do have take away service.

Grænn Kostur’s today’s special wich varies from day to day and is very popular. We also serve veggyburgers, pizza, spinach pie, hummus, various salads and bread buns. Our food is tasty and the portions are big. Our service is the fastest in town, it only takes a minute after you order for your plate to be ready. We do not use any dairy products, white flour, sugar or yeast in our dishes and we put our pride in using organic grown and fresh raw materials. We do offer our guests a choice of yoghurt dressing spiced with vegetables and herbs, and goatcheese crumbs on the salad. Our bread, cakes and pastry is of course free of sugar, eggs and yeast.

All our beverages are of organic origin but we do not serve any alcohol. Make a good choice and enjoy an inexpensive, big and tasty vegetarian meal served by our friendly personnel at Grænn Kostur.
